The Body
The A-Body 1970 Chevelle is considered to be a mid-size muscle car of that particular era. It is larger than a Chevy Nova or Camaro, yet smaller than the massive Chevy Impala. Other than the Super Sport 1970 Chevelle, they all carried the same sheet metal and body-style. The Super Sport had a cowl induction hood whereas the non SS models did not. Not everyone wanted or needed a SS Chevelle with a 454 cubic inch big block, so multiple packages were produced. Each came adorned with package specific vinyl tops, emblems, moldings, and corresponding engine badges.
