The Engine Bay
In 1970, the Chevelle was offered with engines ranging from a 255 cubic inch, 155 horsepower six cylinder, to a whopping 454 cubic inch, 450 horsepower V-8 power-plant. 1970 was the first year that the 454 was introduced which made the Chevelle a symbol of the muscle car era. These cars could be ordered to be a gentle grocery getter, or a pavement scorching hot rod.
